Buildings in Flin Flon and Creighton not impacted by wildfires: Local authorities

The City of Flin Flon states, there have been no lost structures in the Channing area and Mitchell road area as of Saturday morning.

According to the city, the wind has shifted and is blowing from the north, pushing the fire back onto itself. The city also added that quote: “Winds are calm this morning. Asset protection is in place and ready to go if required”.

Fire-fighting crews will be focused on protecting the south side of Flin Flon, up the western and eastern ends of the city.

The firefighters have also managed to keep the wildfires away from the buildings in the nearby town of Creighton in Saskatchewan as of Friday.

The massive wildfire threatening the community stands at over 300 thousand hectares in size as per the latest provincial update.
